ID Card and Parking Permit

SU ID Card

Once you’ve registered for your summer classes, you'll want to obtain your SU Identification Card as soon as possible. Your student ID provides you with access to computer labs and libraries, free use of the Centro bus service on selected routes, as well as access to your SUpercard account, if you have signed up for an SU meal account.

You can obtain your SU ID card at the ID Card Office in 202 Steele Hall.

Although you may receive information in the mail indicating you can receive your ID by mailing in a picture, we do not advise you do this. These IDs will not be available until the fall and, as a Newhouse student, you will begin classes and require your ID over the summer.

SU Parking Permit

Many Syracuse students choose to have a car on campus. Most local neighborhoods offer on-street parking, which alternates daily (i.e. parking is allowed on one side of the street one day, and the opposite side the next). There are several metered parking spots near campus, as well, for students who do not wish to obtain a parking permit, but these spots are limited.

Students who wish to drive to class regularly are encouraged to purchase a SU parking pass, which will give the student access to various parking facilities throughout campus. Most parking garages and lots, however, are not particularly close to Newhouse. We recommend you consult a campus map before purchasing your permit. The Parking Services website is http://parking.syr.edu and their office is located at 621 Skytop Road, Suite 190, South Campus.

Update Local Contact Information

Once you've gotten settled in Syracuse, you will need to update your address and phone number with the University. You can do this online at http://myslice.syr.edu.
