Visiting us is the best way to see all that we have to offer. To reserve a place at one of our Open Houses, please fill out our web registration form or call us at 315-443-4039. We’ll be distributing a special gift to all prospective students who attend.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
While a traditional definition of “Open House” implies that folks can come and go as they please, we actually have a fairly extensive schedule arranged. We use the term to indicate that we’re opening our doors and planning to show you as much as we can while you’re here.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
Syracuse is accessible by air, rail, bus, and car. Hancock International Airport serves many major destinations. Our airport code is SYR. The Regional Transportation Center also offers service by Amtrak, Greyhound, and Trailways as well as local bus service (Centro). SU is approximately a 10-15 minute cab ride from either the airport or RTC.
DIRECTIONS FROM U.S. INTERSTATE 81
Take the Adams Street off-ramp (Exit 18), which will lead to Adams Street. Turn onto Adams, a one-way road leading up hill. At the third light, the intersection with University Avenue, you will see the University Garage ahead on your left. (See map.) Enter the garage by taking a ticket and take the ticket with you. You will need it to reenter the garage. When you exit the garage using the Harrison Ave. exit, please mention the Newhouse Open House to the attendant. This is the only parking facility for which your parking fee will be covered. Please note that the garage closes at 5 p.m. By turning left onto Harrison upon exiting, you will be able to get back onto I-81.
HOW TO FIND US
Walk up University Avenue and the heart of campus will be in front of you. The Newhouse complex is bounded by University Avenue, University Place, and Waverly Avenue, just two blocks from the University Garage. Please enter Newhouse 3 from Waverly Avenue. (See map.) Open house registration will take place in the lobby.
PLANNING FOR THE WEATHER
November is still technically fall, but Syracuse can be subjected to unseasonable weather this time of year. We may experience an early winter snowfall or milder temperatures than usual. Our best advice is to prepare for anything. Check the forecast ahead of time (weather.com or local TV stations, wstm.com or 9wsyr.com) and dress in layers. All events will take place within the Newhouse complex and all three of our buildings are connected. Some tours may lead you outdoors, especially to view the Whitman School or the Maxwell School, with whom we have joint degrees.

The following are hotels located near campus. Due to a home football game on Nov. 21, hotels closest to the University may already be booked for Nov 20. If you require lodging for that date, we recommend looking at the additional listings of hotels.
